A Russian attack on the Azov Brigade

On December 22nd, the Azov Brigade’s press service revealed that it stopped an attack by Russian forces that saw enemy soldiers use several non-military vehicles during their assault according to the Ukrainian military website Militarnyi.

Months of assaults and losses

Russian forces have spent months launching assaults against the Azov Brigade’s positions, something the brigade's press service noted has led to the loss of many armored vehicles. These losses have forced the Russians in the area to get creative.

Using non-military vehicles

The armored vehicle losses Russia has suffered from its attacks is why Russian troops are now using “passenger cars, buggies, and even electric scooters,” the brigade said.

Combat footage was published

Video footage of the recent Russian assault was published online by the Azov Brigade and it clearly shows that the recent attack did include the use of many "atypical" vehicles, which was the wording the brigade used for the non-military vehicles that were utilized by Russian forces to attack their positions.

Russian soldiers on electric scooters

One section of the combat footage shows three Russian soldiers on electric scooters traveling on a dirt road. However, it is unclear what the troops were doing or where they were traveling on their scooters.

The clip only lasts a few seconds and shows one Russian soldier falling off his electric scooter before the group resumes moving. The video then cuts to a group of soldiers hiding among the ruins of a building.

Assault buggies—most likely the Chinese-made Desertcross 3000—were also used in the attack. At least two were shown in the combat footage, one of which was shown to have been destroyed.
