Trump is selling an expensive new watch and you might hate it

His critics are calling it tacky and his allies are worried about its cost. Did you know Donald Trump has a new high-priced scheme to make some money from his brand name and that he’s charging an arm and a leg for this new product: a luxury watch?

The former president announced his new official watch line on Truth Social and he urged his followers to pick one up. The only problem is the watch that the former president is costs about $100,000 dollars. 

That’s right. Trump decided it was a good idea to try and hock a $100,000 dollar watch at a time when the country faces economic crisis. Let's take a look at whats on offer this time from the former president.

“The Official Trump Watch Collection is here, and these Watches are truly special — You’re going to love them,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Would make a great Christmas Gift. Don’t wait, they will go fast. GET YOUR TRUMP WATCH RIGHT NOW!”

Trump linked to a website showcasing his six-figure watch, which features a tourbillon movement and is touted as a “true collector's item”. Only 147 pieces have been made by Trump’s watch brand according to its website.

“The Trump Victory Tourbillon’s design is one of classic sophistication combined with President Trump’s symbol of success: Gold,” the Trump Watches website reads about the expensive timepiece. Unfortunately, the watch itself is a bit over-the-top. 

The Guardian called Trump’s six-figure watch “the tackiest thing he – or indeed anyone – has brought out, ever” while New York Magazine called the $100,000 vanity timepiece “ugly.”

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so there probably are some people with the cash to buy Trump’s Victory Tourbillon who will buy the luxury watch for its 18-karat gold finish and diamond-encrusted bezel, though they may just get it for the personal message.

Trump’s Victory Tourbillon includes a set of two different options for its back casing, one features a personal thank you message engraved on the back from the former president while it features clear glass to better see the mechanism of the watch.

“We’re doing quite a number with watches, and the quality, to me, is very important. The Trump Victory Tourbillon. This isn’t just any watch. It’s one of the best watches made,” Trump said in a video he recorded for his watch launch according to The Hill.

“Only 147 of these extraordinary watches will ever exist in the world, and owning one puts you in a very exclusive club,” Trump would go on to say. The Victory Tourbillon is made with roughly 200 grams of gold and contains “more than 100 real diamonds.”

“That’s a lot of diamonds. I love gold. I love diamonds. We all do,” the former president said. “I have watch number one, and I’m going to keep it… It’s mine, and that’s the way I want to have it. Each watch is numbered and extremely rare, a true collector’s item.”

For those who can’t afford a six-figure timepiece, there is a much cheaper gold-toned watch model at a lower cost that ranges from $799 to $499: The 'Fight, Fight, Fight' watch. Trump is selling a limited edition model of the watch, called the 'Fight for the Red, White, and Blue' GMT Movement Complication.

Trump's cheaper, $799 limited edition version watch is “plated with the President's favorite material, 18 Karat Gold.” The dial features the former president’s signature and looks a lot like a Rolex GMT-Master II.

Trump is also selling a $499 version of the ‘Fight, Fight, Fight' watch. The Trump Watches website says this timepiece wad built for daily wear and it comes in some interesting colors, including bright red.
