Marjorie Taylor Greene and Donald Trump have a fascinating relationship from the outside looking in. The Georgia Congresswoman appears to be a very close ally and knows just what to say to get on Trump's good side.

Upselling Trump to his MAGA supporters

Greene's remarkable talent to upsell Trump was on full display on June 9th during a campaign rally in Las Vegas that saw Greene make the very bizarre claim that Trump was just like Jesus.

Wowing an audience in Vegas

Greene was one of the many Trump allies who spoke before the former president took the stage in Las Vegas, but she was the only speaker who would wow the audience with her over-the-top comparison.

Railing against Trump’s conviction

The Georgia Congresswomen blasted the former president’s conviction in his New York hush-money case, something that was rather recent at the time, which led the audience to begin chanting bull****. Greene picked up on the sentiment and ran with it.

"We aren't going to tolerate it”

"It is bull****, and you want to know something?" Greene told the crowd before adding: "We aren't going to tolerate it." She then launched into her strange remarks comparing the former president to Jesus Christ.

Talking about Trump the felon

"The Democrats and the fake news media want to constantly talk about, oh, President Trump is a convicted felon," she said according to a quote of her comments from Raw Story and several other media outlets

“The man that I worship is also a convicted felon”

"Well, you want to know something? The man that I worship is also a convicted felon, and he was murdered on a Roman cross,” Greene continued, which earned her a big cheer from the crowd in Las Vegas.

A politically motivated conviction

The Georgia Congresswoman went on to say that Trump’s conviction in New York was politically motivated and also talked about how this wasn’t the first time in history that a problem like this has happened.

"We have seen this throughout history”

"We have seen this throughout history," Greene said. "This is nothing new. It's just the first time in American history we have been forced to deal with it." How did she propose that America deal with the problem? By voting.

How to deal with the problem… vote

Greene said that audience members needed to tell their families to get over the drama they see on television so they could vote or else that drama was going to get worse for Americans because of the democrats.

What the Democrats will do if they win

“They’re going to raise your taxes, they’re going to destroy generational wealth,” Greene said. That’s right you’re going to be broke,” she added as members of the crowd booed and she talked about people being forced to drive electric cars.

Not the first Jesus/ Trump comparison

Greene’s comments may seem a bit out of the ordinary but this wasn’t the first time she has compared Trump to Jesus. Rolling Stone noted Greene made the same comparison in April 2023 during an interview with the Right Side Broadcasting Network.

Jesus and Nelson Mandela served time

“Trump is joining some of the most incredible people in history being arrested today. Nelson Mandela was arrested, served time in prison. Jesus — Jesus was arrested and murdered by the Roman government,” Greene said.

Lots of people have been persecuted in history

“There have been many people throughout history that have been arrested and persecuted by radical, corrupt governments, and it’s beginning today in New York City,” Greene continued.

“He’s done nothing wrong”

Greene went on to explain that she couldn’t believe what was happening to the former president but added that she would always support Trump. “He’s done nothing wrong,” she said at the time, a sentiment she presumably still holds.

“Definitely not a cult”

HuffPost reported that Greene’s most recent comments set off a fury of criticism online. Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff wrote on X “Definitely not a cult” with a video of Greene’s comments while other commentators took a much harsher approach.

“More evidence MAGA is a cult”

“Marjorie Taylor Greene just compared Donald Trump to Jesus Christ. If you needed any more evidence that MAGA is a cult, here it is. Insanity,” wrote the Democratic online personality and commentator Harry Sisson.
