Forbes has published their list of the richest in the world in 2024 and, as has been a trend in recent years, billionaires have increased by 141 , with a total of 2,781 who hold a combined wealth of  14.2 billion dollars.

Unsurprising

One of the most popular entries on the list is Taylor Swift, who reaches $1.1 billion, on a list that, despite what many people think, is not headed by Elon Musk. Of course, the fortune of the popular singer is quite far from that of the powerful businessman born in South Africa. Be that as it may, Swift is among the richest in the world.

 

1 - Bernard Arnault and family (France)

$233 billion - The Arnault family business conglomerate owns brands such as Louis Vuitton and Sephora.

2 - Elon Musk (United States)

$195 billion - His companies lead the way to the future and, in the process, make him more millions every day: Space X, Tesla or Boring Company are just three examples.

3 – Jeff Bezos (United States)

$194 billion - The founder of Amazon back in 1994, has been among the richest in the world for years, reaching first place on several occasions.

4 - Mark Zuckerberg (United States)

$177 billion- He founded Facebook in 2004 and in two decades he has managed to be fourth on this list, even after some difficult years for the company.

5 – Larry Ellison (United States)

$141 billion - Owns 40% of Oracle, the software giant that, without making too much fuss, has taken him to fifth place on the list.

 

6 - Warren Buffet (United States)

$133 billion —The Oracle of Omaha was born in 1930, and despite his age, he continues to show new generations how to become millionaires with wise investments.

7 - Bill Gates (United States)

$128 billion - The Microsoft co-founder has diversified his business ventures and now has stakes in companies such as Republic Services or Deere & Co.

8 – Steve Ballmer (United States)

$121 billion - He was the CEO of Microsoft from 2000 to 2014, years of tremendous growth for the company, which continues to generate profits.

9 – Mukesh Ambani (India)

$116,000 billion - President and director of Reliance Industries, a company that touches sectors such as oil, gas, telecommunications or financial services, among others.

10 – Larry Page (United States)

$114 billion - Founder of Google, he resigned from his CEO position at Alphabet in 2019, although he remains a majority shareholder and member of the Board.

 

11 - Sergey Brin (United States)

$110 billion - Like Larry Page, he stepped down as President of Alphabet in 2019, but remains linked to the company, especially after the successful launch of its AI.

12 - Michael Bloomberg (United States)

$106 billion - Co-founder of the financial information and media company Bloomberg LP back in 1981, he was also mayor of New York from 2002 to 2013.

13 – Amancio Ortega (Spain)

$103 billion - Founder of Inditex, the global Fashion and Retail conglomerate, with well-known brands such as Zara, Pull & Bear, Oysho and Bershka.

14 - Carlos Slim and family (Mexico)

$102 billion  - The richest man in Mexico has control, along with his family, of América Móvil, the largest telephone company in Latin America.

15 - Françoise Bettencourt Meyers and family (France)

$99.5 billion - The granddaughter of the founder of L'Oreal is the richest woman in the world and is just shy of $100 billion to her name.

 

16 – Michael Dell (United States)

$91 billion - President and CEO of Dell Technologies, after the merger of Dell and EMC, back in 2016, in an operation that amounted to $60 billion.

17 - Gautam Adani (India)

$84 billion - Chairs the Adani Group, with interests in ports, airports, green energy and many other sectors. He is the richest man in India.

18 - Jim Walton and family (United States)

$78.4 billion  - He is the youngest son of Sam Walton, founder of the Walmart supermarket chain.

19 - Rob Walton and family (United States)

$77.4 billion - He is the eldest son of Sam Walton, founder of the Walmart supermarket chain.

20 - Jensen Huang (Taiwan)

$77 billion - The co-founder of the graphics chip company Nvidia, back in 1993, is its CEO and president and has benefited from the company's rise on the stock market.

 

21 – Alice Walton (United States)

$72.3 billion - She is the only daughter of Sam Walton, founder of the Walmart supermarket chain.

22 - David Thomson and family (Canada)

$67.8 billion - He is from the richest family in Canada, after three generations increasing its wealth, thanks to Thomson Reuters.

23 - Julia Koch and family (United States)

$64.3 billion - Since David Koch passed away, back in 2019, Julia and her three children own 42% of Koch Industries, with companies such as Invista, Georgia-Pacific, Flint Hill Resources, Koch Pipeline, Koch Fertilizer...
