Why Samsung has made the leap to convenience food
Samsung is one of the biggest technology leaders in the world. But if we talk about Samsung in South Korea it is a company that controls almost all of the country's industry.
Mobile phones, computers, rockets, ships, trains, household appliances... Samsung's presence in the technological and industrial sector is absolute.
And despite this, the company wants to continue expanding its business area in a sector that has surprised locals and those abroad: food.

Specifically, Samsung has already begun to market ready-to-go meals, although for now this business is limited to South Korea.

Obviously, this sudden interest in food has an explanation and, despite seeking, like any business, economic profit, it also has a background and an objective worthy of applause.

Samsung has fully entered the Korean health collaboration program, known as eFood Hall.

At the moment, the company is already marketing up to 80 ready-to-eat dishes and recipes, with one element in common: they are healthy and balanced dishes.

The project not only offers the dishes, but diet and healthy eating plans for users who subscribe, either weekly or monthly.

The subscription, in addition to giving the option to buy the dishes and the personalized diet, tracks each client to verify their progress.

And is Samsung up to this project? Obviously, everything points to yes, since the objective, in addition to the health of citizens, also includes selling them one of its star peripherals: the Galaxy Watch.

Samsung smartwatches are the complement that the company wants to link to eFood Hall.
Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 are capable of determining many parameters of the users: from muscle mass, to the exercise carried out, even the hours and quality of sleep or a user's heart rate.
Based on this information that the watch accumulates day by day, Samsung will know the physical state of the users and will prepare an appropriate diet for each specific case.

Fish, meat, ramen, soups, pasta, kimchi, eggs... The variety is quite wide and, if it works, there is no doubt that Samsung's gastronomic offer will expand.

At the moment, the project is limited to South Korea, but in the case of a company as global as Samsung, it should not surprise anyone that, in the medium term, this initiative will make an international leap.
