Biden’s staffers have a very interesting nickname for Donald Trump
Donald Trump is normally the one bestowing nicknames on other individuals but a quick nap in court led to the revelation that Joe Biden’s political aides have a very nasty monicker for the former president.
The former president’s hush money trial in New York kicked off with a big bang for quite a few reasons but one of the most interesting was because of a courtroom update from New York Times reporter Maggie Habermann.
Habermann allegedly caught the former president dozing off in court and posted about it to the world, writing: “Trump appears to be sleeping. His head keeps dropping down and his mouth goes slack” according to Politico.
Habermann’s comments quickly went viral online and one commenter left a rather weird message with a nickname for the former president that until then had not been heard in the public world. It read: “Sleepy Hitler Pig.”
Four people close to the Biden administration revealed to Politico’s West Wing Playbook, a self-styled guide to the Biden administration’s inner workings, that the nickname Hitler Pig is often used by the president’s aides and allies.
The unnamed sources made it clear that Hitle Pig wasn’t being used by senior staffers in the Biden administration but rather what it reported were “generally younger, more digitally native individuals.” However, it is used frequently.
Trump’s Hitler Pig nickname allegedly began to be used by staffers back in 2022 when the former president invited Nick Fuentes, a well-known white nationalist and Holocaust denier, and rapper Kayne West to Mar-a-Lago for dinner.
The former president’s campaign commented on Trump’s interesting nickname among Biden’s staffers. Trump Senior campaign advisor Brian Hughes ripped into Biden for his apparent hypocrisy on the matter of decency in politics.
“Joe Biden talks a lot about decency, but he and his staff don’t have a decent bone in their bodies,” Hughes told Politico. “These ridiculous and gross comments reflect the failure and dishonesty of the entire Biden operation.”
The West Wing Playbook made it clear that nobody expects Biden to use the term Hitler Pig but the president has been actively attacking Trump more often, which may be part of a large campaign strategy shift to anger the former president.
In March 2024, Axios reported that Biden was privately pushing for an aggressive approach against the former president because he believed rattling Trump with daily taunts would lead the former president to “go haywire in public” according to one staffer.
Biden has taken shots at Trump’s age and his legal challenges, as well as the fact that he beat the former president in 2020 and would do it again in 2024. However, some of the attacks have been far more brutal from Biden and his team.
During an April 16th campaign rally Biden took aim at the falling stock price of Trump’s newly public media company and told the crowd: “If Trump’s stock in Truth Social — his company — drops any lower, he might do better under my tax plan than his.”
MSNBC reported that the nasty joke managed to remind the public about Trump’s failing business going the same way as many of his other business ventures, that Trump’s tax plan was bad, and got in a dig that reminded people Biden wants to tax the rich.
One of the most recent devastating attacks against Trump came from Biden’s campaign and focused on the former president’s weekend playing golf, lying about his wealth, and comparing himself to Jesus during Holy Week.
"Donald Trump is weak and desperate - both as a man and a candidate for President. He spent the weekend golfing, the morning comparing himself to Jesus, and the afternoon lying about having money he definitely doesn't have,” the comments published on Biden's campaign Twitter account began.
“His campaign can't raise money, he is uninterested in campaigning outside his country club, and every time he opens his mouth, he pushes moderate and suburban voters away with his dangerous agenda,” the message continued.
“America deserves better than a feeble, confused, and tired Donald Trump,” the Biden team concluded. It was a brutal takedown of the former president and one that made headlines and showed the direction the 2024 presidential campaign may go before November.
