Do you wash your new clothes before wearing them?
When you buy a new item of clothing do you need to wash it before wearing it? You might be surprised to learn that the answer is yes, this is something you should always do!
Throughout the 21st century, Inditex has become one of the great dominators of the textile sector worldwide. Obviously, an employee of the firm is an authorized voice to speak about an issue that a lot people don't even think about...that is until they read articles like this one.
What some Inditex store clerks claim to have seen in the fitting rooms of their stores is certainly enough to convince just about anyone that new clothes before wearing them is a must.
Many store clerks have spoken up on social media about the lack of hygiene that they have noticed in clients who are taking clothes to try on into the fitting rooms.
In addition, customers will often just toss the clothes they try on that they do not want onto the fitting room floor, where people step on them and they get covered in dirt. These items are then just given a good shake-off by employees and refolded or hung up again. Ewww.

As if that were not enough, there are diseases such as scabies, fungi or lice that can be spread by sharing a garment that a previously infected person has worn.
And this is only in the fitting room, but then there are more flagrant cases, such as customers who return their clothes after having worn them and they are left stained or have suspicious odors.

And then of course there are those who purchase an item of clothing just to wear on a night out. They leave the label on, wear the garment for hours on end and then return it the next day. The items is then put back on the rack and is never washed.

In addition, those working in the industry have spoken about the risks of contamination that comes from handling the clothing on its journey from the warehouse to the store.
Even though garments are packaged in individual bags, those bags can break, tear or have holes, allowing dust, mites and dirt to accumulate on certain garments.

Knowing all this, it seems clear that the first and best thing to do after buying new clothes is to wash them and avoid contamination, such as lice, dermatitis, allergies, rashes or pimples.
