Doctors, teachers, and more: which professionals are most likely to cheat?
Do you trust your partner? Do they talk too much about someone from their workplace? Well, we can’t do anything about jealousy and feeling neglected, but it’s interesting to see which professions tend to have higher rates of being unfaithful.
Several studies about infidelity at the workplace have shown different results. Newsweek cited a study done by British online gaming company RANT Casino. It claims that 85% of affairs begin in the workplace.
A similar survey was done a few years ago with data from Ashley Madison, a Canadian dating app for married people looking for affairs, and was quoted by British newspaper The Independent.
The major difference between the two of them is that the RANT study ranks people of all genders while the one presented by Ashley Madison divides the results between men and women.
However, it’s important to highlight that in both cases, the research wasn’t exactly scientific, and the results should be taken with more than a few grains of salt.
The RANT study ranks those working in hospitality and event management as the fifth most likely to cheat, with 7.7% confessing having cheated their partners.
Meanwhile, data from Ashley Madison places men who work in Finance in fifth place with 8% of those in the field admitting to having affairs in the past.
Surprisingly, their female counterpart are social workers, with 9% of women in the profession telling Ashley Madison that they had been unfaithful.

According to the RANT study, 9.8% of people who work in transport and logistics such as truckers confess having had affairs in the past. Maybe life on the road has something to do with it?
This is not reflected in the survey carried out by Ashley Madison. The dating app research shows that 8% of men who work in retail or hospitality and 9% of women who work in finance have cheated on their partners.

However, Ashley Madison gives the third spot to both men and women who work as entrepreneurs. Maybe money corrupts in more than one way…
Meanwhile, the RANT study gives third lace for professions most likely to cheat to healthcare professionals, such as nurses and physicians.
However, there were a few ranked professions that both studies agreed on. For instance, the survey done by RANT claims that teachers and other people who work in education were the second most likely professionals to be unfaithful, with 13.7%.
The Ashley Madison study showed the same for only for women working in education, with 12%. Their male counterpart was IT, with the same percentage of men admitting having had affairs in the past.
In first place, the RANT survey argued that people working in Sales were more likely to cheat, with 14.5% of workers in this field confessing to having had an affair.

Meanwhile, the Ashley Madison study argued that while salesmen were more guilty of committing infidelities, female doctors were in the top among women who cheat.
