Donald Trump hates Taylor Swift
Sometimes politicians don't seem to act their age, as was demonstrated recently by Donald Trump's hissy fit over Taylor Swift endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
Trump, acting much like a teen rather than an almost 80-year-old man, took to social media on September 15 to diss Taylor Swift, writing, "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT," on his platform, Truth Social.
Donald Trump is angry because on September 10, following the debate between Harris and Trump, Taylor Swift took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the candidates with her fans.
Taylor wrote, "Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight...I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them."
Taylor's post was also accompanied by a photo of the artist with her cat, in clear allusion to the conspiracy theory Donald Trump brought up in the presidential debate, about immigrants eating the pets of neighbors in the city of Springfield (Ohio).
However, Trump's recent attack on Swift was not his first reaction to her endorsement of Harris. His first reaction was far worse, Trump basically threatened Taylor Swift.
The day after Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris on Instagram Trump was interview on 'Fox and Friends' and he said, "I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time."
Trump continued, "But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace."
So much so that Donald Trump did not hesitate to compare Taylor Swift with Brittany Mahomes, a friend of the singer and wife of Kansas City Chiefs player Patrick Mahomes. "She is a big fan of mine. I like her a lot more than Taylor Swift," he said.
The reality is that Taylor Swift expressed her discontent weeks before the debate between Kamala and Trump, over the use of her image manipulated by artificial intelligence to support Donald Trump.
The campaign called 'Swifties for Trump' was mentioned by Taylor Swift in her message of support for the Democratic candidate. "Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter." she confirmed.
While we wait to see what happens on November 5, Donald Trump's anger over Taylor Swift's "betrayal" makes clear the singer's influence on a large part of the electorate. It remains to be seen whether it will be enough for a Democratic victory or whether the Republicans will regain power.
