Ever wonder which American cities are the safest?
Over the past few years, crime rates in the United States have risen by an absolutely astonishing amount according to data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
“FBI data shows that it rose nearly 30% from 2019 to 2020—the largest single-year increase ever,” wrote NPR’s Rachel Treisman, a statistic that has concerned many.
With such high crime rates, it's no wonder why so many Americans are choosing to pick up their lives and move them to somewhere they consider safer.
According to data from the U.S. Census Bureau discovered by the website My Move, six percent of all Americans who relocated in 2021 did so because they “wanted a better neighborhood/less crime.”
Most Americans moved to cities like Ocala and Tallahassee according to data from the National Association of Realtors, but they probably should have headed to ten other comparable cities since they’re currently rated as the safest in America by Money Geek.
Money Geek used the latest information from the FBI’s crime statistics and ranked America’s safest cities based on their crime cost per capita, so let's have a look at America's top ten safest cities with a population above 100,000.
