A less than orthodox book

A less-than-orthodox book, 'Unhuman,' by conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec, argues far-fetched and violent theories. Still, the work is notable because, according to several media outlets, JD Vance endorses it.

Conspiracy theorist

Jack Posobiec is a well-known far-right provocateur in the fringes of the deep conspiracist Republican wing. His most famous work is known for promoting Pizza Gate. He co-wrote the book with ghostwriter Joshua Lisec.

JD Vance's blurb

According to the NY Times columnist Michelle Goldberg, Ohio senator Vance wrote a blurb on the book's jacket. It said: "In the past, communists marched in the streets waving red flags."

"To fight back"

"Today, they march through HR, college campuses, and courtrooms to wage lawfare against good, honest people," Vance continued, "Jack Posobiec and Joshua Lisec reveal their plans and show us what to do to fight back."

The theories

In the book, Posobiec and Lisec claim that today's liberals stem from a long line of an ancient evil that haunted the world since the Roman empire and through the French Revolution and Communism, Goldberg explains.

Calling liberals subhuman

Goldberg also pulled a quote from the book about how the authors view liberals: "As they are opposed to humanity itself, they place themselves outside the category completely, in an entirely new misery-driven subdivision, the unhuman."

The world's only saviors

They also claim that, throughout the historic battle against their imaginary enemies, only "great men of means" could defend "the innocent." They provided some references, too.

Praise for dictators

According to the quotes pulled by Goldberg, the book praises far-right dictators like Francisco Franco from Spain and Augusto Pinochet from Chile. The authors called Franco "a great man of history."

Brutal regimes

Both Franco and Pinochet held brutal regimes, with violent oppression of dissidents and many deaths, after overthrowing their democratically elected governments.

Doubting Democracy

Democracy does not appear to be a priority for the book authors, as they bluntly explain in this quote, pulled by Goldberg: "Our study of history has brought us to this conclusion: Democracy has never worked to protect innocents from the unhumans."

Other notable endorsers

JD Vance might be the most notable blurb writer, but other big names around former President Trump also endorsed it: Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump Jr. Stephen Bannon wrote the foreword.

Might not have read the book

It is fair to assume that the Republican VP candidate might not have read the book he was endorsing before writing the blurb for the jacket. However, it doesn't get him off the hook.

Missteps upon missteps

Since he was appointed Trump's vice presidential candidate, JD Vance's quotes have been intensely scrutinized, and they seem to worsen as the campaign progresses.

Vance's gravitation to the extremes

The Ohio senator's gravitation towards the fringes of the right is becoming apparent. His quotes against people without children have flooded social media.

Texts with a conspiracy theorist

The Washington Post revealed his text correspondence with another far-right conspiracy theory blogger: Charles Johnson. Johnson has spread lies about several politicians online.

Dragging the Trump campaign down

According to the Washington Post, the correspondence started after JD Vance was elected to Congress in 2022 and continued until weeks before he was named Mr. Trump's VP candidate.
