Kamala Harris: the stylish Vice-President of the United States best looks

We loved how she ditched her heels for Chuck Taylors while on the campaign trail and embraced a more casual look. The first female Vice President of the United States, she has had to step up her style game, and she has undoubtedly risen to the occasion.

There isn't much worry about what to wear for men in politics - they just throw on a suit and tie, and they are good to go. For women, there are many more choices to be made and more critiques of your outfit also. Join us as we take a look at America's new Vice-President Kamala Harris' style.

Harris is frequently photographed wearing pearls, a classic choice which adds elegance to any outfit. Here we see a young Kamala during her time at Howard University, rocking her pearls just as she does today.

As we said, Ms. Harris always seems to have a string of pearls around her neck. Since she has taken up her position as Vice President, we have seen her wear quite a few different styles of pearl necklaces. Here she is pure elegance in a burgundy blazer and black pearls.

Here, in another throwback photograph of Harris at Howard University. We can see that Kamala (on the right) has always been stylish, even in her student days. Her sunglasses, pearls, and hairstyle, along with her sweater, were on point style-wise during her school days.

The Vice-President knows just how to dress for any occasion. For the presidential inauguration, she wore this royal blue outfit and couldn't have looked more professional and ready to help lead the nation.

Another indispensable part of Kamala Harris' wardrobe is the pantsuit. She is frequently photographed working while wearing pantsuits in somber colors, with her American flag pin and her signature set of pearls.

While Harris tends to favor darker colors for work, here we see her in a refreshing beige pantsuit combined with a simple white tee. Once again, she is rocking those pearls, and wedge-heeled espadrilles bring a feminine touch to the outfit.

Since beginning her role as VP of the USA, we have seen Harris almost exclusively in pantsuits. While we do miss a bit of the variety, we saw in her outfits while on the campaign trail, she does what she can to mix it up with her pantsuits. Here the Vice President wears a baby blue pantsuit with a white t-shirt.

We've noticed that Kamala likes to pair a metallic t-shirt under her pantsuits occasionally. It certainly helps to mix things up a bit; perhaps she needs to wear pantsuits to be taken seriously by the men at the White House?

The Vice President isn't afraid of a little colour, especially when the occasion calls for it!

Skirt suits are also a staple in Kamala Harris' wardrobe. Here, she looks professional and stylish in a skirt suit paired with a simple black heels.

Although Harris typically sticks with dark colors for work events, sometimes she likes to mix it up and wear white or champagne-colored pantsuits or skirt suits. In this picture, it is clear just how great lighter colors look on Kamala; combined with her pearls, she is pure elegance.

Here is a unique work-look for Kamala, a black blazer with a white-appliqué design. This blazer is fresh and young and not quite as serious as her regular workwear.

The LBD (little black dress) should be a staple in every woman's wardrobe, and Kamala is no exception. Pictured here with her children at the 2014 NAACP Image Awards, we can also see that the Vice-President's children are just as stylish as their mom.

Although we enjoy seeing Kamala in bright colors, she really does show a preference for black when choosing formal wear, and with good reason. Appearing at the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party with her husband Douglas Emhoff, Harris is the definition of elegance in her black gown.

In this photograph, we see Harris speaking to Black leaders in the fall of 2020. Kamala's combination of a tan blazer with black trousers and black booties is another attainable look that isn't as serious as her normal pantsuit looks for work.
