Marjorie Taylor Greene said she was ‘mainstream America’ after Trump's win
Marjorie Taylor Greene has been widely criticized by the media for her unique views, but she declared that her style of politics was “mainstream America” in the wake of Donald Trump’s presidential election win.
Several news outlets covered Greene’s comments but Mediaite’s breakdown of Greene in its coverage of her remarks did the absurdness of her statement the most justice in a very short breakdown of her highlight reel.
“Greene… is well-known for her controversial statements and actions, from her endorsement of QAnon conspiracy theories to her infamous claims about California wildfires being sparked by a ‘Jewish space laser,’” Mediaite reported.
It should also be pointed out that in June 2024 Greene compared Trump to Jesus while speaking at a Las Vegas Trump rally according to Rolling Stone and she also pushed a conspiracy theory that suggested the federal government controlled the weather.
“Yes, they can control the weather. It’s ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can’t be done,” Greene wrote on X in the wake of the disaster caused by Hurricane Helene.
The Guardian noted the “they” Greene was referring to was unclear from her post but noted the Georgia Congresswoman had a history of promoting conspiracy theories centered around the federal government.
In her latest interesting comments, which she made during an appearance on Real America’s Voice, the Georgia Congresswoman explained that the 2024 election showed her political views weren’t radical and were now part of mainstream America.
“You know, here’s one thing I would like to point out. They’ve attacked me continuously, called me radical, fringe extremists. You know what they found out today?” The Georgia congresswoman questioned rhetorically.
“President Trump will have over 5 million of the popular vote ahead of Kamala Harris. He will, by the time this is done, likely have 312 electoral college votes,” Greene continued.
“The message that was shot across the bow is, guess what? the American people, the voters that voted for Trump overwhelmingly, they are MTG. MTG is not radical or extreme. She’s mainstream America,” Greene continued.
“And I am very much looking forward to working in an administration that is on that level. And we have to get it done. We made a lot of big promises on the campaign trail, and now we have to deliver,” Greene added.
What role the Georgia Congresswoman will play in Trump’s future administration, if any at all, has yet to be seen. But on November 7th, Newsweek reported Greene hinted she wanted herself, and others who were loyal to Trump included in his cabinet in a different appearance on Real America’s Voice.
