Russia attacks Ukraine's 'Harry Potter castle'
Flames engulfed a building known as "Harry Potter's Castle" in a Ukrainian-controlled area near Odessa. Russian missiles fell there on April 29.
As reported by The Guardian, the missile attack launched by Russia caused five fatalities in an enclave of great architectural beauty and used as an educational institution.
In reality, the popularly called "Harry Potter Castle" is the Kivalov mansion, belonging to an important Ukrainian intellectual and political figure and partly open to educational activities such as the Academy of Law.
32 people were injured in the Russian attack, including a pregnant woman and a four-year-old child.
In the information provided by the Getty Agency about these images of the attack, it is said that the Ukrainian authorities had reported "that the Russian army is using a ballistic missile with cluster munition to attack the port city in southern Ukraine."
This is one of the many attacks that Russia continues to launch against Ukraine while, as The Independent recalled, Jens Stoltenberg, head of NATO, "condemned the slow delivery of aid from Ukraine's allies in the West" that prevents Ukraine from defending itself.
The war in Ukraine devastates human lives and also destroys cultural and artistic heritage.
In any case, the main structure of the "Harry Potter Castle" withstood the attack.
This is daily life in Ukraine, with the possibility of a missile falling and destroying anything at any moment of the day.
And this is what "Harry Potter Castle" looked like, still standing, after the Russian attack. A beautiful postcard of the coast near Odessa threatened by bombs.
