These are the world’s best cities: did yours make the top 21?
Cities are our collective future according to Resonance Consultancy and that is why the group has taken the time to create a yearly list of the world's best cities. Their goal is to rank the best urban destinations but did your city make it onto their comprehensive list?
Ranking the world’s best cities is a bit of a subject task but analysts at Resonance took a look at 400 cities in order to measure a city’s competitive identity based on 23 factors that shape a city’s perception that were broken down into six different categories.
The Resonance scorecard looks at the categories of place, product, people, prosperity, programming, and promotion to draw conclusions about which city is better than others. The concept is a little difficult to grasp so here are a few of the key 23 factors examined.
Things like the perceived quality of a city’s nature and built environment were examined, as well as a city’s safety, its cultural sense, key institutions, and immigration rate. Things like employment rates and corporate offices were studied along with its online presence.
Using these factors, and many more, analysts developed a comprehensive list of 100 of the best cities in the world. However, we’ll only be covering the top 21 of the best cities in the world. Do you think your cities made it onto the list of the world’s best?
