Trump made an absolutely bizarre claim about one of his prosecutors
If you don’t have anything nice to say then you probably shouldn’t say anything at all. It's a lesson everyone learns as a child, well everyone except for Donald Trump, and you’ll never guess what just came out of the former president’s mouth.
Trump made the absolutely bizarre accusation that the Fulton County District Attorney investigating the former president and his allies of meddling in Georgia’s 2020 election was having an affair with someone she had prosecuted.
However, it wasn’t just anyone Trump accused District Attorney Fani Willis of having an affair with. The former president told a crowd of supporters while on the campaign trail in Windham New Hampshire Willis had slept with the leader of a gang in Atlanta.
The former president’s accusation was caught on tape so we know exactly what he said and it doesn’t look too kind from the videos circulating around the internet. First, Trump explained to the crowd that he probably had another indictment coming.
Then the former president went off on Willis, calling her a “young racists” before he went on to explain to the crowd what he had heard about the Fulton County District Attorney.
“They say there's a young woman, a young racist in Atlanta. I guess they say that they were after a certain gang, and she ended up having an affair with the head of the gang, or a gang member,” Trump explained according to The Independent.
“This is a person who wants to indict me. She’s got a lot of problems. But she wants to indict me to try and run for some other office,” the former president continued.
Trump added that Willis wanted to indict him over a “perfect phone call” and said that she wanted to because he challenged the election in Georgia, which he claimed he had “every right to do.”
Newsweek noted there has been no credible evidence to prove Trump’s allegation that Willis ever had a relationship with a gang member in Atlanta.
The perfect phone call Trump was referring to in his rant was the conversation he had with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger in the wake of the 2020 election, a call in which he pressured Raffensberger to find the votes he needed to win Georgia.
“I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state” Trump told Raffensberger according to an audio recording of the conversation obtained by The Washington Post and later released to the public.
The former president has repeatedly tried to discredit Willis and a recent video posted to Trump’s Truth Social page featuring a Rolling Stone headline regarding Willis defending Young Stoner Life (YSL) co-founder Mondo, also known as Fremondo Crenshaw.
According to The Independent, the video claimed Willis “got caught hiding a relationship with a gang member she was prosecuting.” No evidence exists to support this claim, the new outlet noted and Mondo himself explained the pair's relationship in the article.
“I done had auntie-to-nephew, mother-to-son type of talks with her,” the Mondo told Rolling Stone.
Rolling Stone reported in a separate article that Willis is expected to bring an indictment against the former president in relation to her investigation and this might be why Trump has chosen to target the Fulton County District Attorney now.
Willis’ indictment could even contain Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) charges according to the new outlet, which wrote: “it’s not surprising that the former president is cranking his smear machine into overdrive.”
