Donald Trump's granddaughter might be young but could aim high

Throughout US political history, there have been quite a few dynasties: The Bushes, the Kennedys, the Clintons. And, who knows, maybe the Trumps will join that list.

It’s possible that you have never heard of Kai Trump. The granddaughter of former US President Donald Trump had her first major moment by making a short speech during the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

“I’m the granddaughter of Donald Trump”, the 17-year-old girl told the RNC attendees. “I’m speaking today to share the side of my grandpa that people don’t often see”.

The young Trump told the public that for her, Donald Trump is just a regular grandfather. “He gets us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking”, she added, much to the laughter of the convention attendees.

The New York mogul and his granddaughter apparently have bonded over golf. Kai Trump also said her grandfather often calls her in the middle of the day to ask her how her golf game is going, and she has to remind him that she’s at school.

“Even when he’s going through all these cases, he always asked me how I’m doing”, she added, apparently moved by the polite gesture, ignoring her grandfather’s mounting legal issues.

Kai Trump also addressed the assassination attempt against her grandfather in Butler, Pennsylvania. “I just wanted to know if he was okay”, she said, as her grandfather smiled and nodded from his seat.

However, the young Trump didn’t address the public at the RNC just to share family stories about her grandpa. In case you haven’t noticed, there’s an election in November.

“Lots of people have put my grandpa through hell, and he’s still standing”, the young Trump declared, followed by claps and cheers from the audience.

“The media makes my grandpa seem like a different person, but I know him for who he is: He’s very caring and loving. He truly wants the best for this country, and he will fight every single day to make America great again”, Kai Trump finished her speech.

Here are some quick facts about the New York mogul’s granddaughter: Kai Trump was born on May 12, 2007. She’s the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Kay Trump. Her parents were married from 2005 to 2018.

Interesting enough, her uncle Barron Trump is only one year older than her. One could easily imagine the two of them playing together while growing up.

As the eldest child of Donald Jr. and, overall, the eldest grandchild of Donald Trump, Kai is the face of the newest generation of the Trump dynasty. Maybe she has some higher aspirations of her own?
