What's behind Jill Biden's controversial Vogue feature
The Biden White House is facing yet another problem, this time involving Jill Biden and her ill-timed Vogue cover photoshoot and interview, as her husband struggles to keep his presidential campaign afloat.
CNN writes that Jill Biden is Vogue's August 2024 cover star, her third time being featured on the front of the fashion magazine. This time, however, many people aren't happy, and it's not just the Ralph Lauren dress.

The cover was made public a few days after Joe Biden's disastrous performance on the CNN presidential debate against Donald Trump, putting his chances of another four years in the White House on thin ice.
Vogue Magazine actually contacted Dr. Biden after the presidential debate to ask her opinions about the debate during their weekend retreat at Camp David. The First Lady stood by her husband, saying that he would do “what’s best for the country”.
“We will not let those 90 minutes define the four years he’s been president. We will continue to fight”, Dr. Biden declared, on her husband's performance at the debate and the calls for him to step aside as candidate.
According to Newsweek, the Jill Biden cover photo sparked the anger and mockery of Republicans on social media.
Comment after comment, comparisons to former First Lady Melania Trump, who used to be a supermodel before marrying Donald Trump, abounded.
“Melania Trump is an actual super model who speaks 5 languages but she's NEVER been on the cover of Vogue. Jill Biden commits vicious elder abuse on the world stage and now has two Vogue covers to show for it”, Fox News host Jimmy Failla wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
The New York Post writes that Jill Biden threw away any prestige she had by appearing in glossy photographs wearing designer clothes, along with an interview highlighting how much she influences her husband.
The New York Times writes that Jill Biden has been portrayed by right-wing media such as Fox News to be a scheming Lady Macbeth, trying to hide the real estate of her husband to keep her power and prestige.
Whatever you think about Jill Biden and her Vogue photoshoot, one thing is certain: November is getting closer by the day and every action is essential as Joe Biden's chances for a second term hangs by a thread.
