Some of the cities might surprise you

Modern highrise buildings are one of the world's most impressive inventions and they've come to dominate cities since they were made possible in the late 1800s. But have you ever wondered which city skyline has the most of them?

The data from SkyscraperPage

SkyscraperPage put together a list of the world’s busiest skylines complete with the total number of buildings in well over 7000 cities. Anything over twelve stories or taller than one hundred and fifteen feet (thirty-five meters) in height was counted and termed a 'highrise' building, so skyscrapers were included, too!

You can probably guess the number one city

The list included cities from six of the seven continents and the top 25 cities came from countries all over the world. It’s easy to guess which city took the top spot but a lot of other cities in the top 25 might surprise you. Let's take a look at them.
