Trump's UK chum Farage and his far-right Reform party surges ahead in the polls
Nigel Farage’s recent boast that his far-right party Reform UK has “all the momentum” in British politics has just been endorsed by a poll that puts Reform ahead of both the Conservatives and the ruling Labour party.
Conducted by YouGov for the Times newspaper, the poll showed that 25% of Brits would post their ballot for the party that promises “to freeze immigration” come the next general election.
This is against 24% for Labour and 21% for the Conservatives who were voted out of power last July after 14 years.
Surveying 2,223 adults at the start of the month, the poll shows that only 60% of those who voted Labour in the July 2024 general election would do so again.
Men were more likely than women to vote for the far-right, with 29% in favor of Farage at the helm.
A quarter of those who have traditionally voted Conservative are now more inclined towards Reform UK with several Conservative Members of Parliament switching their allegiance to the far-right.
The poll results are bad news for new Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch who is desperately trying to drum up support for a party that ended its 14 years in government mired in scandal.
A protégé of both Elon Musk and Donald Trump, Nigel Farage is cock-a-hoop with the results of the poll declaring on X that “Britain wants Reform.”

Farage's 1% lead over Labour in the YouGov poll was, however, flagged up to be within the margin of error.
Farage and his party were a driving force behind Brexit, which has been shown to have severely damaged the British economy, a consequence agreed on by experts and admitted recently by the UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves.
Farage has also been an outspoken critic of Muslim communities in the UK, suggesting that many young Muslims “do not subscribe to British values,” Al-Jazeera reports.
